Looks like w/sw for Friday and Saturday, apart from heading to greens, what's the best place to sail.
And is anyone going to be there Friday from around lunch time on, cause if I go I will probably leave by 7.00 so get there about 12 to 1
As Sam said:
East inlet at mid to low tide. It is SUPER gusty near the shore. Generally pump up and walk out onto a sand bank before launching. Kite in the channels
West inlet is sweet, but need to be launching an hour or so before high tide. Pump up in the cemetery then climb down onto the mud flats to launch. BUT REMEBER, THIS IS OUR LOCAL. DO NOT DO THIS IF THERE IS A FUNERAL (or mourners). We do not want to lose out launch spot. A down winder on the outgoing tide to hellfire is pretty cool.
Hellfire we don't kite very often any more, but it is the best spot for beginners - cleanest wind and a fair margin of safety. Little kickers/shore break. Get there by driving towards the old cable station, and you will see it. As the tide comes in, the beach ends up nearly 200m closer. So think before you put your car on the sand. You can drive out on the rocks on the right if the tide is out, so you don't have to walk so far. Launching at high tide is difficult - best launching off your tow ball, but be careful of the box thorns and the electric fence (something a few of us learnt the hard way).
West coast has heaps of options in a southwesterly. Usually Greens at Marrawah is the go, but can sometimes be a touch off shore. Bigger waves and cleaner wind can be had at light house, but can be pretty gnarly. Other options totally dependent on testicle size.
Looking forward to it - should be sweet.
