just thought i'd upload some board p0rn for the non-strapped enthusiasts
5'6 19 3/4 2 1/8 (or so) round tail thruster - actually is a surfboard for a midget or kid in sloppy waves, super light glass job and expected to snap within a few rides but it has kept on (looks like a golf ball though) - absolutely love riding it and might get it replicated onto a blue blank one day.
5'10 19 1/2 2 1/4 (i think) squash - custom based off one of his surfing models for suckier reefies, single conc to double, only ridden a couple of times so far and haven't messed with fins yet but is a thruster as well. it is built off a firmer and heavier blue blank, also has some beefed up glassing - hoping it will last me at least a season or two - although we've all said that before....
i "accidently" got the 5'6 on the same day from grubbs shed when i ordered the custom as it just looked like a gem. probably prefer it given i ride slop alot, and totally agree with surfieb about the light glasss jobs - feel f*&king incomparable when punting etc (and maybe caused my latest knee injury - but thats another story)
to answer the original question - i won't buy a kiteboard to then surf on (i just need way more volume), but i will kite on my surfboards every now and then in light wind or to mix it around a bit. try to buy all my boards off local shapers whether kite or paddle now (but got an old kontact for some strapped action once in a blue moon)
