i tried a wam last year, imo you can't compare the two.
the wam felt like a barge, didnt have a progressive feel (felt very bouncy/skittish) to it through the turn and sat too high in the water for my liking.
like how all the 'composite tech' style of marketed kite-surf boards feel.

just my take on that style of board though...
what are you gonna get next? another Wam?

i agree, boards are fricken pricey and you nearly cry when ya break one ya love.
what sort of lay-up you gonna go, PU or EPS?
