I am planning to buy Park's too but not sure what combo to get?!

Currently riding Torch 2008 12/8 combo....I am 65kg/143 lbs and riding 134/40 TT. Riding mostly from 12 to 30 knots...:)

What would you get?

@riddim : Can you tell me what is you weight so I can compare if i need smaller / bigger combo?

I am 83kgs at the moment..... You must be nuked on the 12 Torch @ 15kts. I was going to suggest what Terryzarmsoff said regarding the 10/7 combo. If you are planning to stick with the twin tip you may find this mix a little light in the power category however. Going from a 12/8 @65kgs you are probably use to being over cooked. I hate to be boring but I really would suggest the 11/8 or 11/7 combo as a safe bet. The 2014 parks would turn much quicker than a 2008 Torch and as such generate much more relative power. I'm sure you will be impressed but only a demo would confirm that. Good luck.

Thank you guys , i was thinking the same 10/7 or 11/7 combo. I am afraid 10 would be small for 12 knots but anyway fun starts around 15 knots so maybe 10m would be ok. I will try to demo one

Riddim1, I am interested in the Park I have ridden the 2012 but it was not rigged for my style and it felt like it had no grunt. Anyway what boards are you using with your 11 and 8 combo. I am 90kgs and ride a 10 & 7 Rebel but they are not very good in the waves and I am looking for a better overall kite. I also ride 70% waves to 30% flat water. I would like to progress more in the waves and I hope this kite can do that. I also ride solo so getting the kite to self land is a priority. I am going to demo one soon. I have also tried the North Dice but have not made up my mind yet.

HappyG, I skipped the 2013 Parks as they were practically identical to the 2012's which I had as well. They did lack power and you had to ride them on the wake setting which had the kite wanting to fly central to the power window. I'm riding the BWS 5'9" Drifter presently. Brilliant board for wind swell actually..... Rebels are notoriously powerful to comparative sizes so you would need to go up a meter with each kite. I seriously don't know how Sky Solbach can ride those things the way he does in the waves...... Anywho, demo is the only way forward. Cheers.

I don't agree that the 2012 & 2013 parks were identical, the 2013 imo is a more powerful faster turning kite than the 2012, I actually preferred the 2011 over the 2012 I felt it had more raw power & was livelier.

I really enjoyed flying my 2013 10m had traded it on a 2014 10m but only been out in at a spot that wasn't ideal for me to put a new kite through its paces.

I cant see any difference between the 2013 & 2014 swivel unless it's internal?

Yeah I gotta say the 2013 is pretty much the same as the 2014, minus the pulleys. I have 2013 and had a couple sessions on the 2014 and it felt pretty much the same so I didn't bother upgrading this year, but they are miles part from the 2012 park which I didn't like and stuck with the 2011 for another year. The 2011was probably a better wave kite than the others but it did lack low end. The 2013 does not lack low end

i have 8m 2012 park, 11m 2012 vector and a 2013 zephyr. looking to get rid of the vector as its a little slow for my liking and want to upgrade to a park.

problem is its hard to find an 11m park so i wondering if 10m would be too much of a gap from the zephyr and i think the 12m might have too much gap for the 8m..

I am 85kg and have a small board 132x41 naish momentum. would the 10 park get me going at 16-17 knots?

For your weight and board size with 16-17 knots i would defiantly be looking at the 12. You will be able to ride it until 25 knots comfortably and then the 8m will be in its sweet spot.

For what its worth i am a similar weight (5kg less) and ride a 12/8 combo and it works well for me.

thanks for the reply, im really scared for the big gap! i recon the zephyr should cover me untill 20 knots tops. so im hoping the 10m would kick in well from 18knots...

no not at the moment! i think a large light wind board could make the 8, 10 & 17 work...
