this thread is just a big push to bring back MUTANT boards :)
tried a little 4'5" Naish mutant back when i was starting and loved it.
Best of both worlds and definitely allows you to push a very different surf style of our own.

if you have to ask, you will never know.

i ask.. but don't care to know, Although I'm sure a kid with acne will enlighten me........ why do wake style use flat water for preference but don't hire a boat for the wake.... shouldn't it be called pop style, or Even an abbreviation ... POP style , P00fy Ocean Popping style...

at the end of the day style is only determined by those that are insecure enough to be concerned with it... the rest just want to pay our bills on time and when an hour of freedom is granted from the daily grind of life enjoy a kite with whatevaaaaaaa choice of board and matching color scheme kite pants

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

i think i just answered my own question regarding wakestyle.
but still think it should be called POP style for legitimacy.

I think your missing the point.
I'm not talking about spinny technical tricks, I'm talking about riding waves with a Kite, using the kite to your advantage, instead of pretending like your surfing. You have a kite so there is no need to ride a massive surfboard. If surfers could ride a tiny board, throw massive spray and do huge airs, they would.

You haven't tried the 5'2" F One, I have and I do! - or at least try to.

They're 2010 Ronix Ones, Illuinati ltd edition. Basically the same as the Ones but without the magnetic lace cover.

Luv em.

Right-on. ^^^
Surfers would love to ride mini-shooters.
But the reality is that surfboards need to be buoyant enough (big enough) to support a paddler, paddling.
Paddle-power is the engine-room of surfing.
Kiting is a wind-driven turbo-ride.
ZZZZZZZZoooooooooooommmmm
The design-criteria for both sports (surfing and wavekiting) varies.

we are such a tolerant bunch aren't we ?

Live and let live hey- if crew want to bang to the beat of their own drum, let them.

Riding strapless on a skim and surf board has taught me heaps about kite control and board control. I can also see what Rowdy is saying about using the kite to create a new style in the surf,it would be great if he could use tha same logic when thinking about his beloved wakestyle..

For me personally the strapless style on a surfboard has given me a new challenge that I am enjoying. If ya don't dig it don't do it...

Kiteboard, more like kitebored on a twin tip, stick to the pond with the goat boats and the canoes and lilos, if you dont like sharing the waves ,yet to see a twin tip ride the ocean better than a kitesurfer, tripppin!
