So this is my second season...

In the first season I was mainly just f'ing around trying to waterstart, trying to stay upwind, freaking out about getting in the way of other people and doing the walk of shame over and over again. I loved it, learned a lot but man it was frustrating at times.

Now in my second season in the last 2 weeks I have progressed immensely and last friday I must have had the best session so far. I was boosting (quite) high, riding toeside, landed my first few backrolls and even managed to do a tail grab!

I was absolutely stoked, it was an amazing feeling! I'm totally pumped and ready for the next sea breeze to come in and soar through the sky!

This was by far my most memorable and most amazing kiting moment.. Whats yours? Be interested to hear your stories!

+1 for unhooking in reef break waves and first session of glassy flat unhooked backrolls and raileys.

You're not married are you?
Lucky bugger

I only have small things so far, but they still fire the stoke for me;

Being able to navigate safely past other kiters at a busy beach = relief and confidence boosting
Finally having something click and getting my slide transitions dialed = woohoo! moment
Realizing after a session that I haven't had to do the walk of shame = woohoo! moment
Playing with the beginnings of getting some successful air by chop hopping, small fry I know, but still = woohoo! moment for me

Every time i get out is a woohoo! moment for me.

I'd like to say I've achieved a decent jump/boost, no matter how small, but demands on my time mean I don't get out as much as I would like.
Watch this space...

That would be an amazing experience! How long have you been kiting for and what board/kite did you use?

Be interested to see if my skill level might be good enough to participate next year (if i get through the ballot)

Well I'm still a newbie and last weekend in Mandurah it wasnt one moment it was the day.
Got down about lunch time with about ten kites waiting everyone taking turns to see if there was enough wind most where on 12 I have an 8.
I stepped up gave it a go and the wind dropped and I ended up dn the estuary
with a big walk finally got back to most people giving up and leaving so I decided to sit and wait and wait.
And then low and behold the wind came and I got a 3 1/2hr kite longest yet
and I was stoked, closest feeling I can get to riding powder.Heaps of friendly people and to top it off a kiter I've never met gave us beer when I got in.
Im still smiling

powered up in head high surf. Boooooooooooooost off a wave lip on the way out, get sweet sweet height, then coming into land. Seeing that i'm going to land right on top of the next pitching wave. No worries, throw a back loop land on the face and ride it back to the beach! Ye...freaken....ha!

I've only pulled it off half a dozen times.... but when i do thats the wholy grail.

Storm kiting in 35+ knots in 5m+ swell. insane waves, rediculous wind... allways epic indeed.

kiting 3 1/2 years . Used a sector 60 and 10.5 rrd obsession . Suffered equipment failure on the beach and started about 10-15 minutes behind the field but still stuck with it and finished the race.

+1 but without the unhooking. .. Gnaraloo: kitemare recipe for disaster all around you. If it goes wrong it goes very wrong. But getting it right.... nothing beats it. That wave just keeps on going.

The search man, the search!! Told myself 3 years ago I would not stop until I found the perfect wing for me. Now I have, search is over. Done.

But all those brands/kites I would still vouch for given the right rider. All good quality products. For instance I recently sold my lithium to a rider who this kite fits perfectly. My brother rides my 2012 rebel, it fits his style and evolution at the moment. He was thinking of also getting edges and selling his rebel ( he made the big mistake of demoing the edge kite I had from Westoz), but I convinced him he was just dialing in the rebel. He has however bought a 9m edge, ha ha ha

The edge is just a perfect fit. Can't begin to explain how much I dig this kite. Just blows me away every time I go out.

Going back to my home break kitesurfing on a sb at Robe in SA after having only windsurfed there for years. I know the break backwards but with a different skill 5 years later. Had a blast.

last night was pretty memorable.......Yes I'm still talking kitesurfing!. A 25-30 knot southerly came through at about 530, with a building 2-3 meter swell, I rode it untill about 8.25pm, only came out because it got to dark. Big waves, long rides, huge cuttys and hacks, massive boosts. Oh yeah what a session! I have never kited untill night before, its awesome when your missus is away

Was just down the shop! It was like i was on the set of cocoon, with a plethora or crazy dementia ridden smiles at the guy whose the young man in isle 4 and I'm 40! baby boomers polluted our oceans, deforested our planet, have had all the job and property opportunities.

Now they clog up the shops, the doctor, dentists and other specialised surgieries. forget taking your kids camping cause the armada of grey Wobblies just frankly scares them, they will ensure their is no pension as they clean the coffers dry and create an ever increasing exponential rise in health insurance...so while they spend their kids inheritance spreading themselves thick and thin through our public services, also make a point of not voting for daylight savings as WE FEAR CHANGE.

Don't get me started on these parasites.
