I've got to back up the NEW man and say the 7m OS is great if you like really fast kites in strong wind.

plus no bridle for seaweed fishing. gotta love that for WA .

I've also got the 9m, only used it once but it was great too.

Hey Guys,

I was going through all my old mags (trashing them) and I think I found that article about the NEW OS kites. They mentioned in the article that the kite felt gutless and the profile too flat to fly in the eastern states. Then they realized that the front lines were connected on the light rider settings, moved them back and felt substantially more power.

Now I fly my 7m OS on the front light rider setting on a surfboard at 90+kg in winds starting from 18 to 20 knots and have never tried the heavy rider setting but now reading that article I am hoping to get 16 knots out of my 7m.

Hey Nate, you’ve got to let the NEW Alibi demo kite do its rounds , not that I am in the market for a NEW kite (or any kite at that , just signed up for a 30 year commitment ) but I love to torment myself.

All I say is fly before you buy.

Cheers
Rich

Pretty sure it's a delta or a bridled C
Not sure which one - that's up to you

The worst kites I have flown have bridles!
They make a kite feel like poo, especially if you know what its like to fly without bridles.

Kites without bridles have a far smaller depower range at the bar, that means less poo stance.

Its all about good looking style in the waves.

I see a bridle kite in the waves and think "that guy must have just learnt to kite.... cause he is looking kooky with the poo stance"

Thanks guys, it looks like back to try and buy

I just want to crank big turns in the pocket, come hard of the bottom and just do big carves. I'm prodomantly kiting reef waves from 1 - 6ft and just want to kite the wave like I surf it. I've been surfing these waves all my life and now I want to kite them like I surf them.

I have no problem with cross-off or off-shore winds, but the kite just wants to drop out of the sky in cross-on or on-shore when I catch a wave, so I have to really work it to ride the wave. So I suppose I wanted a wave kite that has grunt and holds itself up in the window when riding towards it so when you crank a turn back into the face you power-up again. maybe I need to work on my kite skills, keeping the kite powered-up?

Check your line lengths, I saw in another post you made that you had problems with the kite stalling in turns and when trying to power out of turns.
Lines stretch/"creep" its just one of those things that spectra/dyneema lines do, so you have to keep checking them.
And it could just be an unwanted feature of your current kite??
And it also could be that you are not carving/turning hard/tight enough away from the kite when turning back to the wave face, if the lines go slack, then you are losing control of your kite and then relying on its drift ability, pulling in on the bar at that moment is a natural reaction, but if your lines are stretched, the kite over sheets and stalls.

We have Ozone Catalysts and C4's for demo now, the new Slingy Rally in a 10M, new Cab Switchies, new Cores and will have Wainmans in a few weeks. All available for demo.
