I've got two Axis boards now... the FruJu prototype (too sharp for a hack like me) and a 5'6" Spud, which is very fun for a hack like me. Surprisingly good board for being so "small" and me being so heavy, too.

PU do, but epoxy and EPS have come a longggg way!

This is my quiver at the moment. All custom from our local shaper. I paddle surf them as well so they are not glassed to heavy. I go 4+6 Deck and 4 on Bottom. 5,9' , 5,11' , and 6,1'.

My favourite board at the moment is this little Jason Rodd (Goldy shaper), Step Cousin. Here's some pics:







It's 5'8 19.25" 2.1875", 26.6L. 4+4/4 with a deck patch, epoxy EPS. The board is glassed heavier to compensate for the blanks lightness, which is supposed to stop that corky feeling which is associated with the epoxy boards. This is one of the lightest boards I've ever held. I was a little worried it would be too skittish being so light, but it feels really settled underfoot. Those black lines are carbon rod inlays (ie stringer). The board has a lot of flex, loads up and pops out of turns. I reckon it cranks upwind so much it allows me to hit waves riding upwind my other boards don't let me pivot around for. Boxy rails and single concave. Running the Mulcoy futures, haven't tried it as a quad yet.

This is my 5'9" smook.

I dunno much about it coz I have a sailing background, but it rides sweet for me, and looks cool too.
I like the shortness of it. I've ridden a 6'3" and it felt so wrong.... Had to lean to far forward to keep the nose down I thought.

I only just took up the directional path, but loving it. I'm a big guy, so TT just struggle when I'm sitting on it.
Loving how much faster the SB is.

I rode straps for the first month, but ive taken them off now to learn gybes. Before hand I was just riding heelside then toeside.
It so hard without the straps, but I will get it... Its only been 2 months.

I don't wanna hear **** about the straps in the photo.... Its an old pic, its raining outside, and I'm not going out to the shed!

After I busting up my nugget . I took this nsp board out for a rap and works great in light wind. A wide body through the middle and flat rocker makes it my back up light wind board now.Not so snappy in the turns , but more of nice flow of turning.
I bought it 3 years ago for surfing for $180 ...Its a tough strong epoxy make . It handles the flogging better than my nugget
