And he seems rather pleased about it too. Nice one.

I like his attitude, and I like the stuff he's been doing with Aaron, but if he wants to stay in the limelight he'll need more than megaloops and S-loops. Come on Ruben, what's the new frontier going to look like?

Awesome!
Looks like a new stormsjees video is in the making?
Nice stuff from Len10, but I haven't seen him doing a hooked in megaroll, followed by a handlepass 10m up in the air and another kiteloop..
So for me Hadlow is numero uno in this category

Boosting 2.0 just reached the double pullup stage...

p.s. "mega roll?"... "megaloop"?... these all dont exist, I'm gonna guess you are talking about a kiteloop.
I wanna see someone do a massive forward loop like the one Lou did in ten4 or the one vari tried in whatever other vid that was when he was riding RRD and got completely smoked up going off a wave, now that was nuts.

@Alex Rowdy: I reckon I just meant a biig kiteloop backroll!
Lou's forward loop (at 1:58) looks gnarly indeed..

Yeah as rowdy said megaloop is just a kiteloop, Hadlow likes to 'claim' them as a megaloop if they are above 10m high. LOL

I like to see Hadlow do some powered kiteloops in boots with a 12m in 20-25knots like lou, instead of all these dangleloops (i'm sure that lots of people love em though)

I guess you can't blame people for dangling out of loops though, I mean you can only land from 10m flat on your board so many times haha. Especially so seeing it was nearly impossible on old kites to dangle down, new kites have made it all so easy. If you put a new kite on shorties like 10-13m it probably isn't even that impressive anymore with how efficiently new kites fly.
I have some 04 fuels and 13m lines still if anyone wants to man up and give it a crack... Hell I even have some 04 Catapult kites to do it on to if you really wanna get killed.

Those were the good old days hey????

Who cares that it was harder in 10 years old gear
We want to see people pushing the limit with the best gear available so they can go bigger.

Keep on enjoying your VHS tapes and let us head down the beach to see those guys go hard

"Who cares that it was harder in 10 years old gear"...

Who cares?
Isn't half the thrill/ excitement of doing a trick (or watching someone do it) that the trick is actually hard to do and has a high degree of danger? Maybe I am thinking about boardsports or something, I forgot we were talking about flyboarding.

Not to knock people or support Lenton on this, but I do find the haters funny. There a whole lot of people bitching about how these guys aren't extreme enough and yet I don't see that many people doing anything remotely close to as dangerous as they are. What difference does it really make if the guy does it in bindings or not? Its a mega loop, not a back mobe. How many guys have you seen out doing kiteloops remotely as powered as these guys do them? Lenton loops his 7m in 45 knots (true speed, not gusts) in Cape Town where he's so powered he can barely walk down to the water and others are out on 5m kites.

You know i'm good for tryin them Rowdy :)

Saffer it doesn't matter how high it is its a kiteloop (megaloop = NO)

IF we start calling them megaloops is a 10m high mobe a mega mobe? (fk that makes me laugh)

You mean just like a Crow Mobe is really a toeside front roll with frontside 360 or a Fat Chance is a a switchstance heelside front flip with a frontside 360? Why don't we just call them what they are? Then how about something as simple as the difference between an s-bend and a laid out front roll being whether the board is above your head? (and you're complaining about megaloop when they could probably argue that it qualifies for a different name because the kite is often lower than the person looping just like wakeboarders can claim a new trick for the board being higher than them)

This is not to be pedantic but when we get anal about people calling a mega loop a mega loop because its a reference to how big it is, then there is something seriously overly politically correct about this sport.

I'm not saying Lenten isn't good or this kiteloop isn't cool.

I'm just trying to provide some perspective and insight into how gear has effected how hard and crazy a real gnarly kiteloop is.
I'm pretty sure Psylor is the person I have seen do the stupidest loops by a long shot, unhooked, over the kite and hucking mobes with forward kiteloops. Pretty much just death. Now that was exciting to watch.

Because that name is actually shorter and makes it easier for people to comprehend hat you are talking about... and most importantly the person who invented it had the right to name it anything they wanted... Thats why!

If Jeff Tobias wanted to be a total nob I'm sure he could have called it a "megaloop" to if he wanted, but he didn't. Instead some other clowns came along 5 years later and started naming it a "megaloop" instead of a kiteloop. In order to make it sound more impressive and like they had actually created something. They tried to do it with a few other tricks as well, adding the prefix of "bosch" on the front of tricks that had been invented 15 years earlier wakeboarding. Luckly those tricks names didn't stick, but there were euros using those names for a fair while until finally it was totally obvious that it was wrong.

Truth is this trick was already around in other sports like paragliding, it's called a flyloop.

Kiteboarders need to realise there place, they pretty much come last, they are the last boardsport. It is most likely that anything you can think of has been landed in some sport already. Don't get bitter and deffensive about it, suck it up, respect the roots of where boarding came from and pay dues to the creators of tricks by using the correct terminoligy and names... Don't be a "kite douche" get it right.

You mean like a Half-Cab Double Back Roll Mobe is a Half-Cab Double back roll with an additional 180 - wow, thats so much shorter! or does it only count when a wakeboarding god renames it? How about renaming a trick simply for throwing in a grab slightly differently or tweaking. That's so much more mature but I forgot, kiteboarders are the douches, you're not a douche if you rename something because your back leg is boned out a little when you're doing the same grab. Okay, here's a suggestion, a megaloop is a really high kiteloop, but all you have to do is bone out your back leg at the peak of the loop and we can call it a megaloop.

You also just proved exactly my point. Megaloop is a hell of a lot easier than writing "20m massive kiteloop with a second loop on the landing". Just the same as you would say "look at this monster KGB" or are you not allowed to use adjectives in wakeboarding on the double up?

Good in theory BUT a megaloop is just a kiteloop... You don't call something a kiteloop when its on the water or not big, that is called a downloop... or a kitecircle.

just putting this out there that isnt a hard trick to do... the 2nd loop has almost zero pull.

we used to do it back in the day when we were just getting into kiting and kiteloops were the cool thing to do up at lano on a 7.5 maxed out doing a f*ck of kiteloop followed by a second loop followed by a downloop to landing so 3 loops all up with the last making it that s loop thing. sure didnt go as big as old mate and what not but the trick itself is a bit of a joke. reminds me of boschmosis

Thats fine. The next time Lenton comes to Aus and is showing off his (mega)loops, you can go out in your bindings and show him how to loop. If you're going bigger and better, then we'll happily post videos of you all over the web and help get you massive sponsorship to travel the world doing your loops.

The irony with the wake crew is you can bitch about how Hadlow and Lenton have their kites at lunch and how soft their mega loops are but at the end of the day, they'll still be doing better tricks than you, going high, with the kite lower and getting paid a sh|tload more to do it.

also after reading all of the posts saffer your arguement i am sorry to say is pretty weak.
your saying that the components that make up a trick should be said instead of just the tricks name. ie a backmobe consists of a COMBINATION of a backroll with a frontside 3. right so its putting a COMBINATION of things together into one move and giving it a name.

does this make sense to you? yessss ok you can have a cookie.

ok so now what you are saying is because he goes slightly higher in the sky it is now as if he is adding a new component to the trick, which in actual fact he isn't. hes just doing it bigger.

its like saying you should call a moby d!ck off a double up a monster d!ck because its off a double up and he goes bigger. or its like when you tap your missus then i tap her, both doing missionary, she doesnt say im doing her MEGA missionary because my d!ck is bigger.

another example to make it simple for you.
nick davies doing a KGB 5 at cable.. he doesnt call it a suuuupahduuuupahh kgb because he spins an extra backside 1, its still just a kgb spinning a 5 so name kgb 5.

when danny harf spun a 1260, he didnt call it a crazy mc impossible spin just because he did an extra 180 over the last guy that did a 1080...

on a side note: Ben Foote, doing that downloop frontblind 7 attempt, that was a fkn powered loop.
