Now that the wind has died off, has everyone started to notice that Perth is a really awful place when compared to any other city in Australia?
Let me point out a few key areas for discussion:
1. Food Prices (Restaurants & Supermarkets & markets are all 50-100% higher than Brisbane or Sydney)
2. House Prices (Anything in a decent area is $500k+ even 1 bedders WTF)
3. Low breeds per capita (Unskilled labourers and their trailerpark Rayleen-Sheilas seem to be breeding out of control, even in the nicer suburbs!)
4. Nowhere to drive to (Drive upto 3 hours in any direction from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbs and you will be somewhere magical; think Byron Bay, Noosa, Mt Warning, Springbrook Mountain, Seal Rocks, Jervis Bay, etc etc. Drive any less than 3 hours from Perth and you will be in some sort of awful barren wasteland)
Now I know there is going to be a lot of "if you don't like it then leave" comments, and I will, just let me collect a few more massive mining paycheques and take every cent I have earnt back to the east coast. I personally think we should start mining Perth, Margaret River, and the Pinnacles.
That's all such an "Eastern states" thing to say.
1. The most expensive stake I ever had was from a stake house on the East coast $90
2. Try buying a house within 11 km of Sydney for under $500,000. Impossible, you can buy them in Perth about 5km from the CBD though
3. Nowhere to drive to .... Lol The amount of Eastern staters that point out that they have snow fields 2 hours away blah blah blah, and 90% of them have never even been there. Go to Rottnest / penguin island / forests in Dwellingup / Winery tours south or even East / big wave surfing at margs / reef diving or fishing up in the north west / or..... you can F&*^ off to east side, pay 10 different tolls as you sit in another trafficjam caused by yet another addition to the stinking m5 freeway... you also have at least a 50% chance of rain cause it's cloudy every day on the east coast. and a 20% chance of kiting because there is no wind and good spots are.... as you said.... 3 hours from everywhere. Don't forget to renew you pink slip, green slip, white slip , e-tag, and visit the mechanic every year to get another slip..... While your at it, spend most of the WA generated GST revenue on your states economies to pull them out of the recession that they are in.
4. I've been all up and down the East coast, and at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if there are a gazillion attractions because there's an 80% chance you won't get out of your car due to the torrential downpours.
It is good that we are getting more and more miners from the East coast coming to stay temporarily over here, which is tightening the rental market so much, I can ask for ridiculous amounts of rent :)
