C kites have come a long way since the ol days.

Really
Here's my first kites, wipika matrix still got a 7 11 16.5
Still take them for a run
The bars have come on hugely but the matrix still goes great in correct wind
The Wipika Indy I had was a cracker of a kite also
5 knot setting I added on the fith line gave it a good range

11 years apart in design, not that different

Funny thing is that the Matrix is a better looking kite.

that is due to it being a 3d model with as many polygons maxed out as possible dink wad

... actually it still looks pretty good... skinny struts so less parasitic drag....plenty of apropriate reinforcement (unlike switch jesus christ they sucked glad theyre slowly figureing out to use sailmaking techniques) those ****ing panels tho! holly god damn ****! those panels are effing HUGE just look at the size of those things. the stretch and pressure and tension on them is incredible. largest spanning panels i have seen in a looooong time. its amazing they flew straight at all ever. in one session i could see it going from allways veering ofto the left due to the stretch to allways veering to the right. that alone makes me thankful for new kite design.

sorry here is the swept wing design one
