To make sure I have this clear in my mind.....
If a company gives you shots and writes up a story, you will run it. (if its up to standard) But you wont pay for those shots or articles?
Nice business plan. Get the content for free, package it up and sell to the masses...I like it.

CoryB... I have never heard of you and your riding skills. Maybe you should have been sending in pictures to build you profile and maybe the magazines would have heard of you and your skill ability. From my knowledge and experience mags don't go and pay for a no name no skill rider that hasn't put the time into building there name and sponsors brands. All the best in building your kiting profile like the rest of us have had to do over the years on our own budgets! Beaver

I dont remember saying mags should pay for shots of me, I was making a comment on the fact people who spend their time taking quality photos dont get paid for their effort.
I will stand corrected by Bruce saying there isnt the money in Kiting to pay for all the shots, and if a rider is proactive enough they will pay for the shots themselves.
i dont read this mag so im not sure what it looks like but for the review section if a riders says i dont like this or i do like this, as long as they state the clear reason along with their back ground details it will give the reader the ability to put it in perspective to see whether thats a pro/con for them too or whether it would affect them at all.
e.g. kite B has a nice bar, it is simple clean not cluttered. Pro: it has above bar depower, i like this because i find that below bar gets in the way as i unhook a lot and often grab CL to hook in. or con: its chicken loop is a bit floppy and the QR is easy to trigger, i dislike this because i hook in and out a lot and sometimes hit it accidently, however, in a safety perspective this is good.
generally reviewers should ride all styles on the kite being tested, oldschool, wakestyle, dangle style, surf, and comment on whats good and bad in each category, collaborate the info between the 2 or 3 testers and you should have half decent results.
justify the statement and there is nothing wrong with an opinion on gear in ur mags.

excellent thanks for regurgitating what he said at the start of last week . For us subscribers i would have expected it on my doorstep already . 5 days to post something from one side of the country to the other is bollox .
Aust. post is almost better and cheaper than the couriers with all forms of kite stuff...... But when i purchase gear out of the Yorkeys kite shop and have it sent down South via Aus Post it takes days and days and days....... so im not suprised a single kite magazine is the same......

Yep got mine too yesterday. So good to see the BETTERDAYZ feature back. Plus some great coverage of the events in Mackay and Alva. I thought the photo of the chick in the night riding shot on p18 was frikken awesome. Good job KBm - one of your best issues for awhile I reckon.
come on aus post. -maybe hit the bosses up to get those blokes off those sh!tty ct110's and maybe get em on some hiyabusa's. and possibly some superchargers for those big red trucks.
Mags have made it to Victoria - so gotta be close to arriving in WA We know we had an issue with Australia post to WA - We have looked at it and asked to get them to speed it up - I am thinking they are using bicycles to carry the mags across the country. Be patient hopefully the WA crew will get it by today or tomorrow. Can someone please post as soon as it hits - thanks Bruce
Woohoo mags in WA - I just checked they may have gone with a courier. We are currently talking to Aust Post about getting the subscription copies there much faster. Someone shout out when the subscription arrives
