yep that is the bin.

I'm sure the 10 knot sweep had some thing to do with why people wern't paddling in.

A Jet ski comes in real handy when the surf is 10 foot and you do tow ins. That's what I have been doing all weekend :D.

Why not paddle in? If it was only 10 foot why go for the soft option? Seems like you have been watching too many movies. Notice that in the movies they are towing in when the waves are too BIG to paddle into, like 30ft plus?

Other than the fact that 99% of jetski riders seem like CUBS (new to my vocab), some are really decent and helpful and do use the rest of the ocean. Had a dude bring my board back to me the other day and didn't even wait for a thank you... However, i also think that they make people with no real skill into big wave surfers; if you can't paddle in at 10ft you shouldn't be out there

That wave looks more than 10ft tall to me. If the guy is say 6, the wave looks at least twice as big.
Plenty of surf movies have guys towing into waves that look they could be easily paddlying into.

On the goldy when it gets big we get a huge sweep with it that makes paddling out almost impossible. I used two paddle out before i got a ski but you would spend 2 or 3 hours paddling to only get one or 2 waves.

Maybe if you have a nice reef break with no sweep and a channel to paddle back out in you wont need a ski until it gets 30 foot but here on the goldy when it get big a ski realy helps.

I agree..great for tow-ins, a good friend of mine gave me a couple last week at Gold Coast..pimped it to a 1200. I was being towed in on my 5'2 naish fish. With the size and the grunt behind my me...I was feeling like Laird Hamilton riding Jaws on a small day. Thanks to robbie and his other mate Ben for the tow-ins and some rather bumpy footage. I'm keen for more !!
