THE PIN PULLER said..
Hey mate. It's in flat water. No waves. Waves this arvo so might be a different story. When you say back stall, normally my kite can be stalled if I hold both steering lines x 1foot up them and pull the bar in to full power kite will park its self down into the window? Does this mean the lines are to slack?
Cheers
10m off flatwater is pretty damned good if you mean Woodies or pond flatwater :)
To begin with then...
Stand on the beach kite at 12, adjust the settings until you can get it to fly back over your head as far as you can.
Once you find this point - adjust rear lines shorter so it just back stalls (falls backward) with bar pulled full down.
On the water it will bacstall more, as the dynamics change with edging.
In a big gust check and adjust this last bit of stall out with your depower line so the kite sits at full forward pulling power without surging going forward or backward.
When you jump, the kite will actually be in a backstall position on the way up - as you sit directly under the kite, the full aerodynamics will come into play giving you max lift.
If you need to add in pigtails for fine tuning just do it.. stretched canopy or lines throw the standard settings out in a slightly used kite over 6mths old..
If you mess up a wave launch and get spun by the Lip - move both hands to the centre and relax youll drop down nicely.
