If you're after quality shots and not quality kiting the best I have used is free handing a ski pole. It has a bit of weight to it so smooths out all the jarring that makes video unwatchable.
The camrig is my favorite :)

i used a suction cup mount the other day, its cool for a different perspective. just whipped something up this morning
