I had the V1 version for close to 2 years and liked it.

The dynema line slider is the way to go for me now....very smooth and got used to it in one session.......it's the Andrash way.

I'm looking at that option. I see a few guys in video clips with what looks like the dynema arrangement.
How do you attach the chicken loop to the dyneema, or how do you stop the chiken loop and dyneema cutting each other???

Might have to invest in one for those days when unhooking isn't possible. Hooked in feels so restrictive, un natural and gay otherwise.

I don'r recall see a different hook with Dynar Bar version I have so basically it is just change the bar for the dyneema, and thread it through the pulley bracket on the hook.
I have also modified my arrangement with a just the sheave from a yachting pulley and a couple of large stainless steel washers either side to get away from that ridiculous bit of plastic tubing they include, so I will see if that works as well as with a ronson pulley.

(I am surprised that they haven't done 10 minutes R&D and come up with something better. With a good free running sheave in there it's runs pretty effortsly.)

The only down side I find with a Dynar Bar is that when it is out at either side the distance to the bar is greater than with a fixed harness with spreader bar, and it is further to reach the depower strap above the bar, so I find I always fly with a bit of depower on, which on lighter days is not such a bad thing.

Glad to hear you mod'ed your harness to take the 13" option. From a lot of reports an extra 2" can make a huge difference
Also getting feed back that the Dyneema option is the preferable one for most. The 'prowave' metal slider a close second with very few opting for the 'freeride'.

How does the rope kit compare to the pro-wave? Does it feel smoother and nicer when wave riding?

Yep the dyneema feels a lot smoother than the pro wave.

I had a couple of sessions with the the pro wave then a few sessions with the dyneema, for me the dyneema felt like the way to go. (if I was going to stick with it)

I have gone back to my fixed spreader bar for now though for a number of reasons but will give it another go one day because I can see the benefits for hooked in wave riding.
If I wore a seat harness or if I didn't switch stance I would definitely stick with the dynabar/dyneema setup.

However I use a waist harness (which I seem to be able to use loose enough so that it swivels around without riding up) and switch stance (so that I am pretty much always riding heel side) and also like to unhook at times (it is heaps easier to unhook and hook back in with a fixed spreader bar) so for me I think I still prefer my old set up.

Next time I try it I will shorten the rope a bit more so the hook is a bit closer to me as per the fixed bar set up, I think one of the things that made it feel a bit weird was the hook just being a little bit further away from me.

I never liked the V3 bar with the set points in it - the new prowave is much better but for me nothing comes near the Dyneema - back injury or not - although it sure does help a lot with that too - if you have the opportunity to run the 13" bar instead of the 11" that is definately the way to go!

It only took 20 minuntes to get used to the dynamics of it and as there is no fixed path with the Dyneema it feels very natural and constant - like most things you have to try to see if its for you I guess.

Its another QR option built into your set-up.
Not essential these days I would have thought but no harm in having another option for any complicated emergency I guess.

REVIEW - feedback has been super positive. Typical is that they're a bit unco at first but after a very short time you get used to the shifting angles of pull & the advantages are well aprreciated. Esp those who are pulled by the seat of their pants.
I have heard that a few have shelved them in preference for their (old fashioned ) fixed hooks so it may just pay to try your mates, if you can, to see if its for you.
Anyone out there with a shelved unit (must be V7) give me a call. I may trade it back so we can set up a few demos at KSS.

@ dawso - they did have problems with some of the earlier versions. If you return it to your place of purchase Im pretty sure they will sort something for you.
