Well,
You can still get deathdragged with a psycho kite using this arrangement ... ^^^
But at least when you get dragged from the front (as opposed from the back of the harness),
you can see what you are going to smash into.
Always be aware of the hazards.

Still looks to be potential for a tangle ,i would clip it to the side of the dynabar,that way you always know where to reach for without having to look.

Should be no worries with a std lgth leash hooked to the override on a below the bar,i see you've shortened the leash with knots,problem i can see with this setup is if the dynabar line snaps under load then its all over,everythings dependn't on the one line.

Maybe I should mention that the below pic is not a photo of my gear. ^^^
I don't use a death-leash.
What interested me in the photo was that the handle-pass line (the white rope) is on the harness front.
Normally it's on the back.

thats not a handle pass line, its designed for the harness hook to slide along.

Yea its got a QR setup instead of a hook,looks a mess and could easily get tangled ,iv'e never had a problem punching out with the leash attached to the handle pass lesh on the back of my mystic,always been able to reach it no worries,used to have a spreader with a built in front attach for the leash but it was a pain in the butt as it constantly kept getting tangled with the safty line flicking up and twisting around it.

It looks like its from the 1990's! If you're so worried about getting dragged backwards why not just clip your safety to your harness hook? Gets a bit busy with the chicken loop in there too, but makes more sense than using this dodgy looking piece of crap! Also, seem to remember some harnesses having a ring on the front of the harness so you could clip your safety leash there? Think it might have been an old Da Kine or Nash seat harness I started out on in 2006?

Some people refer to the kite leash as a death leash. The reason for this is that some people believe it to be a safety device making you safer wheras its actually a device to stop your kite from blowing away when you activate your safety or drop the bar when unhooked. The main danger is when your kite has some sort of a tangle and continues to loop even though you have activated your safety and drags you out of control. This is even worse if the leash is attached to the back of your harness which people do if they do a lot of handle passes. The safest way to use a kite leash is to attach it to the front of your harness and be familiar with using the device to activate the kite leash safety - normally a red slide handle that should be closest to the harness.

Waveslave,,please post a pic of your safety system and what your useing when you hit your safety release.
It will benifit this thread, about safe kiteing, if we can see and understand that you know and use a safer method , than what you call "the death leash" system.
You may even save some lives from the killer leashes.
