Believe me Andy has very good judgement and if he smelt a rat in this situation then there pretty likely was one .

I'm not taking any sides, but the bottom line is he isn't as good as aaron. From watching both of them, MY OPINION is that Aaron is still better. He has so much more style than Andy. Aaron is STEEZY.

I don't think they needed to make the comparison in the article though. It should have just been about ANdy and his accomplishments.

If Andy isn't a great kiteboarder, is only say "Good", then Rowdy would be "Ok" and that makes me "Totally ****e" rather than just "Mediocre"

I've been happy with mediocre for years, now I find out I'm not even that.

How so? any any sports you have your "sporting greats" differentiated from your run of the mill sportsmen, thats why they have things like sporting hall of fames. its not to say that the top sportsmen are bad, its to say that a particular sportsman was great and in more cases than not, changed the sport as we know it.

Honestly nothing between any of them and comes down to the day, but this shows that andy can be better then all of them on any givin day. Dose it honestly make it any differences if hadlow is on the pkra? I believe not, because at the end of the day you still have to beat the worlds best, and it's be proven that hadlow is beatable and Andy is the worlds best ATM!

Anyways, this all seems a bit Hollywood, tall poppy syndrome...

I haven't read the article myself but if it is a dig towards Andy because he refused an interview then I reckon it is def a case of sour grapes from the mag.

I met Andy when he was about 15 and know him to be a polite kid. He's also really intelligent and capable of making smart decisions.

I'm also sure that Andy will not be doubting himself, or doubting his claim on the World Title.

All thats left to say is

Andy you ROCK star you!!

To be honest It seems a little bit off for both of them. As a Pro-sportsman Andy should be able to handle the journos better, and as a journo Rou should give the kid some more respect for his achievement.

Obviously they have previous with each other and Rou was pissed that Andy turned down the award. I'm sure both of them are happy with the outcome, Iksurf mag gets lots of coverage in the chat rooms all over the web and Andy gets more coverage on the forums and probably follow up articles offered to him by magazines looking to profit from the scenario for their own ends.

As an advertiser with iksurf mag I can tell you they offer great value for money in terms of page views per $, only Kiteworld comes close to their circulation figures. So it's not written by Oxford Literature graduates, who cares.

I'm sure Andy and Rou both consider this article 'a win', the fact that a handful of Andy fans think Rou is a dick probably doesn't even register with iksurfmag.

All Andy has to do to prove him wrong is smash all-comers this season, then we'll know for sure if he had an easy ride or not. I wish the kid best of luck.

Who cares, he's not trying to claim or change anything... He's trying to win world tours and so far he's doing a pretty good job at it. He just rides to the criteria.

When did this start happening there? because only a year or 2 ago your "low and powered" boulding and the great wakestyle rider Sam Light were both riding straps and doing dangles... This mentality has been around in Australia since pretty much day one.

James is a good rider but I can think of lots of other riders (UK included) that would far better represent that style, his kite isn't that low.
