Hmmm three DVD's. 290 minutes...that is 4.83 hours of Airstyle.

Think I will wait and read the reviews before buying this one, maybe even wait until someone can lend it to me...for a year.

Some fun looking tricks granted. Otherwise the biggest load of show boating nonsense I have ever seen. Honestly who is going to go out and send there kite to lunch time and flap there arms like a seagul?

True, but there is a fine line between promotion and vanity. As an example, the first video section introducing him shows a title "Most progressive freestyler" which is a hell of an arrogant claim to make in a video you're producing yourself. There are so many other options that could have been selected but proclaiming yourself to be the "most progressive" is both arrogant and vain. He doesn't know what other people out there are doing, he didn't come first in the championship, etc so he has no reason to proclaim that. If you have a title behind your name (world champ), then by all means use it.

in a nutshell

I'm looking at it from a whole very view point it seems. I'm not getting the vid to 'get off in my jocks', nor for entertainment, well maybe a bit.

I'm looking at it as a chance to watch and develop my own skill set. But don't worry you won't see me doing air guitar or saluting ( then again might be funny to have a laugh at his more silly tricks).

But he gets air and has enough time and skill to perform certain things with the body and board.

The basic principles surely will help those like myself who still kite mainly for air and old school stuff.

I found it exhilarating to watch 10 years ago and I still do. What doesn't exhilarate me is watching modern freestyle. I respect and admire it, but it doesn't do it for me.

So maybe a different reason or view point might actually provide some education for you negative nannies. That's all I'm looking for in it and to have a good old laugh over a few beers at his showman ship.

I watched this guy Toby in Brazil a few years back. His tricks look much improved. Even so everyone on the beach watched him and no one was interested in the handlebar pass new school Yawn lot.

Thats right they may not appreciate the skill involved but like you say the height of the jump looks far more impressive and entertaining.

you've just got to read a lot of the replies in this topic to see that not everyone finds it more impressive, entertaining or cooler than wakestyle. quite the opposite.

Wakestyle/freestyle tricks may be difficult to execute but they are not elegant and often over in a blink of the eye. Thus by nature not very entertaining. If you want to make a sport more appealing then you need to keep it entertaining.

Not just what is said above, but reading this thread it seems there is a pattern here..

Why do you guys all seem to want to entertain joe public, or think its important? why do you feel the need to make the sport appealling?.. this philosophy is retarded and most probably the basis for all our issues with the general public
