The local kiters are super nice people, and very adapt at knowing they're local conditions, and the dangers involved launching from such a tight place.

Yes it looks dangerous, and it is to a certain extent... but you adapt to the danger, eg make sure ur safety's are ready and working, and i for one have my hand on the button when i,m launching.

so based on the fact they are locals means there is never a chance they could get into trouble by a rouge gust of wind or some other freak of nature ?

I succumbed to watching the vid.....................pretty kn sad I must say. What is the point of even posting this sort of crap.....the rider is very average, conditions are windy but so what. No waves or froth, just back and forth tacking. And the bit with the guy jumping and rolling around at the shore with the rocks and all shows that someone at some point shat in to the poor man's brain.

Wasn't going to post on this one but in the interests of educating the noobs .....

The vid was ordinary but that's not it. The problem was the lack of respect for "what if...?"

He's flying a Cab which has pulleys and bridles which tend to fail over time, it's not a 2010 Cab so it must have had some use. If a pulley had failed as he was between the wooden fence and the rocks, then you would have had bits and pieces of Tim feeding the rock crabs over a 100m stretch of rocky shoreline for the next week.

Ask Jono Keys what happens when a line/pulley failure occurs in strong winds on the waters edge

Just not enough room for gear failure or sudden wind direction changes/gusts. It would have been easier and safer if he'd stood in the water and had someone launch his kite from the pine log fence

BTW. He's obviously a gifted pilot, displayed by his ability to keep his Cab out of the trees Cant believe anyone didn't write it first, it was a sitter

have to agree about them cab pulleys breaking unexpectedly, I have seen them do that on occasion, could be very sketchy if for instance you where dune jumping from a great height like certain individuals that will remain nameless.I saw one guy hit the deck pretty hard after pulley failure the kite started death looping and he went strait down hard,lucky for him there where no rocks and he didn't stake himself on a tree,just winded himself hard but the potential for disaster is there big time,that was on an earlier model cab.

Apart from that we should all go wrap ourselves in bubble wrap and dont do anything that looks even remotely dangerous ......!!
