Even a solid bar for towing is crook- I had a tow using a solid bar when my truck's clutch fell apart, towed from Margaret river to Kewdale.
white knuckles all the way....every time the fellas towing me, either slowed down or hit the brakes- my truck tried to overtake them or push them into a slide.

gimme an A frame any day.

no having to worry about steering, or the tow car/truck hitting the brakes without any warning

I see plenty of suzukis being towed on A frames behind winnethingo campervans and converted busses, and in country areas I have seen shire council utes being towed on A frames behind graders.

As long as it is built to an approved standard [whatever that is] it should be fine.

Best A frame I saw bolted up as part of the roo bar, and it was unbolted from the top of the roo bar and hinged down for use, with a drawbar extension that slid into the centre of the A frame to lengthen it.
