We had rainwater when i was akid and eveyone had dead bird or something in the getters at some point and nobody got sick.

It is - but most of the dam water we end up swilling or washing with has all sorts of muck floating in it , and birds crap in it out there too , kangas as well!
Was out at Harvey Weir a few weeks ago and that was almost brown , now we've got Seawater for dinner too - it all needs treatment no matter where it comes from.
Theres 2.3 million folks over in the wild west now - and we running dry.

The only other solution to this problem is reverse osmosis systems. this will provide a clear water system for domestic supplied systems and bore water users. I have done the sums and at 16k with on going specialized maintained systems its impractical and extremely expensive.
Im sticking with my rain water harvesting.

No problems just solutions.
Its better to look at a problem and provide solution rather than look at a problem and add to it.

Solutions come at a price If you have the money.
Plenty of solutions if you find it a high priority and want to spend out resolving it.

Truth is refined h2o is bad for you as it is a water that will chemically absorb elements.
Its hard to explain but if h20 is pure (as reverse osmosis) it will absorb minerals out of your body. This is where this process becomes expensive. refining to h20 Adding chemicals to provide a normal drinking water especially to refining bore water or other treated water is expensive.

The solution is reverse osmosis. This process is far out of expense range for most people and can be more detrimental if not maintained correctly .. regardless of if your treating suburban water rainwater or bore water.
I did the sums on treatment of bore water to supply as drinking in regards to providing a rainwater harvesting plant. I did the maths.
Farmers and people who live in remote area of Australia can vouch for this.Drinking water is a comedoty that should be reserved !

You are so right about H2O being not good for you. If you drink distilled water over a protracted period you run the risk of mineral deficiency.

There has been a huge amount of research done on water and health, mainly by Japanese and Korean medics, a lot of which does not get translated and publicised. Their research indicates that water that with a high pH and mineral content is highly beneficial. Coincidentally, the same chemical conditions that apply to many of the famous healing mountain spa's.

Inversley, low pH and oxygen are accumatively detrimental.

They recomend an intake of between three and four liters a day of quality water.

No wonder we have health problems when it is second nature for half the nation to quench their thirst with Coke at a pH of 2.1. That acidity is countered with calcium leached from bones, called osteoperosis when it starts to make itself felt.

Rainwater is all we have ever used for drinking water, a bit of bird crap dead birds etc is good for the immune system, never been crook drinking it from day dot to now, that's the problem with most people now days live in a sterile world and fall victim to all sorts of things.

our rainwater tastes great , but dont look in the tank. if weve had a dry summer and a storm is coming I will drain and flush out the tank and start again.
My daughter uses it in her fish tank and when cleaning it out she discovered that the water had dissolved a silver plated coin in the tank.

Electrolysis! the water must be acidic or have salt in it! do a Redox test to it and it will give you the current flow in mA!
