Wow. Sorry guys but some of you have tastes for the McDonalds cheeseburgers of movies. I've always had a thing for science fiction so there are a few in that genre that I enjoy:

2001: A Space Odyssey (a classic)
Forbidden Planet (a cheesy 50's classic. I think I had the hots for the girl when I was about 13)
Gattaga (love that they fly off to Jupiter dressed in suits and ties)

But probably the top ones would be:

City Of Lost Children (fantastically weird French film)
Das Boot
The Blues Brothers

Well, I for one cannot stand The Blues Brothers...

I kinda like the Box Office pop-corn top forty formula... and I don't pretend otherwise.

No Country for Old Men was an 'odd' movie that I quite liked and have watched twice now...

No place or no country? with tommy lee jones is the one i am thinking of with josh brolin and xavier bardem,( excuse my lack of punctuation but i know what goes where and the wind is starting to whip ,and i go home in 10)
