Na north girl was having fun and trying to sell a van and it degenerated.. She seemed nice enough but at some point she is just trying to sell a van, so let's be nice and just speak to her with the respect you would to any female.
That sentiment is fine.
Just seems to me that the Euro backpackers get to Australia, do their thing, then at some stage find they have a problem such as how do I get a free or cheap yacht ride up or down the Queensland coast or how or where do I kite or wind surf or where is a good place to publicise my van for sale.
So they do a quick Google search and Seabreeze being the best site for Aussie wind sporters, it comes up straight away.
Then they sign up, make a couple of posts with their bleat with never the intention of participating in the forum again once their problem is solved.
All take and no give and no real interest. Such a selfish attitude as most backpackers have. They do not really mix with the people in the countries through which they travel, just other backpackers on the same trail.
The term "backpacker" is a misnomer.
NorthGirl is an exception to the usual. She has actually had a conversation with us, posted a couple of photos and made 14 posts.
I wish her well and hope she keeps up the conversation when she gets back home and speaks highly of her sojourn on the opposite side of the globe.
