reading Donald Sutherland's name above made me recall another one that I saw at the drive-in.
He was a double agent. - Awesome suspense in the lighthouse scene.
It was the "B" movie, but it was better than the feature,

"The Eye of the Needle"

You're missing one of the most important pieces.

Cross of Iron, it's a Sam Peckinpah classic that introduced a few new things to action scenes that are all "de rigeur" now.

Also interesting in that it's not the allies.

Thanks for that.

The classic last line from James Coburn. "I will show you where the Iron Crosses grow."

One of the most brutal yet uplifting stories of war has to be "Schindler's List".

"Such a small pile of hinges."

Each time I watch Apocalypse Now I get something else from it, great soundtrack too.

It's a great film. Very very dark and very very long (the full cut) but worth the effort.

Besides, it has surfing in it...

And you Perth folks thought some of your beaches were rough!

In Pursuit of Honour...not an all time classic war movie but it was shot in the Hunter Valley and starred Don Johnson.

Reason I nominate it...I was an extra in the movie, quite amazing to see how a movie is made.

Would not put it up there with "the best" but an all time Aussie classic, or 2, Spyforce, and odd angry shot.

Not bad for low budget Aussie productions.....entertaining......I'm trying to talk it up after a few Friday night beers

I would vote for "INGLORIOUS BASTARDS" or perhaps the series of films titled "THE DIRTY DOZEN"
