No. Because Alan Jones hasn't harped on about it yet because he's too busy whining how he's going to be bankrupted by having to cough up an extra $10 a week.

The rest of SB is busy finding out the "real" truth on youtube.

Much as I disagree with and oppose hacking, this somehow seems completely appropriate:

With their links to many politicians and reports of bribery coming out then I would have at least thought Petermac and Doctor would have been frothing at the mouth to say something.

Murdochs are low life scum that ought to be jailed in Guantanamo, no trial needed we have seen enough.

Actually, one thing which really hit my funny bone in this incident, good old Andy Coulson, the guy who aledgedly encouraged his journalists to hack into other peoples phones, when he was being pestered by some other journalists for his side of the story, he got most indignant and said that they should respect his privacy!!
I nearly fell over laughing.
Apparently the boot didn't fit so good when it was on the other foot.

I wonder why he didn't hold to that philosphy when he was publishing all the hacked conversations.

Exactly. I'd imagine Murdoch owned media is under strict instruction to keep it very hush hush for now. No point people asking questions?

Kind of why I'm hoping this does some serious damage to them, or at least generates some serious interest in changing the monopoly News Corps has on the media here.
Too much power in the hands on someone who has been effectively unaccountable for his actions. (until now hopefully)

News may be keeping quiet but Fairfax is loving it. The Age, Sydney Morning Herald are full of stuff, as is the ABC.

Nah, they do different things.

Wikileaks is basically a postbox for informants to post documents to. They don't "hack", they only receive.
LulzSec are a bunch of hackers.
Anonymous are a loose group who specialise in Denial of Service attacks. (and I doubt many of them are over 16)

Who cares about the hacking scandal and the Australian media. All you need to do is to look at the Australian and the Herald Sun and the plain, shameless bias they carry on with. This is from an Australian editorial
"We believe he and his Green colleagues are hypocrites; that they are bad for the nation; and that they should be destroyed at the ballot box."
In that one statement the Australian has destroyed any reputation as a newspaper it ever had.
And Radio????? FFS, the constant, constant anti carbon price tyrades of the shock jocks is unbelievable. The sooner news limited is destroyed the better. Totally undemocratic.

And the power they wield makes or breaks governments. Using their own and their friends business agendas to decide what news to cover and from what angle. The uneducated masses never look past the propaganda.

It is ridiculous that we ever allowed the media to become so controlled by a single entity in the first place.

If you want entertainment watch 7.9 and 10. If you want news abc and sbs.

Voldemort, Hannibal Lechter, Lord Foul, Sauron, Dr Evil.

Choose your bogeyman. This man trumps them all, beats all the conspiracy theories because he's no fairytale and he's been driving the agenda in UK, US and Oz; dictating policy and bringing down governments.

Absolute power and zero accountabilty. Does it get any scarier than that?
