Yep - remember JJ days and also the arrival in the West too.
It's not just about getting stuck in old ways/toons
The OLD JJJJ used to mix it up far more than the conservative charting high rotation bollocks they rotate non-stop today.
Nuttin on JJJ these days makes
anyone wanna smash **** up and disobey authority like it used to.[}:)]
Beige at it's most exciting.

Also there is a complete lack of knowledge and/or respect for that which came before and forms the influence (if not 80% of the samples) for what is squeezed out of the production tube today.
the doors were wellll before my time, yet I love em coz they were smokin hot and original. Same for many many other bands.
I'm not sayin JJJ need to play greatest hits all the time but one classic an hour (and less mindless jibber jabber from Tom & Alex etc) that introduces a
great act (rather than re-introduces) to a new audience is not too much to ask.
A wisened music afficianado told me recently that JJJ had a comp where the answer was the Pixies (Q was a very well known track) and it took eons to get an answer.

Funny thing is most of the acts
played by JJJ know their chops and referances but the audience remain ignorant and JJJ ain't helping.
Music should be good enough to be timeless, not myeehhh, whatevs after 2 weeks.
Don't be a fraid to play a track over 12mths old. If it's really good it'll
always be good.
Old timer ranta rant rant - over

Anyway I'm goin back to listening to RTR.
