You seem to be slightly mis-informed on a few things.
A $2.50 toll is not very common - most of them are significantly more than that - sometimes double. $5 an hour parking at Bondi or Manly is a price from years ago...its much more now

Hell spend over 2 hrs in an inner city parking building Mon - Fri and it can cost you over $50! But if you do an early bird and stay all day can get away with $30.
The best thing about Sydney is the F3 as you head north. I live 94km north of Sydney and the F3 makes it all bearable. A beautiful piece of road except when there is an accident - hold ups have been known to last 10 hrs! They have tried to instigate a full lane sharing setup now but it is yet to be fully tested under pressure since it was finished. I hope it works next time

I spent 10 yrs living in Manly and had a blast.....you just need to like crowds and have a reasonable income. Otherwise its an absolute prick of a place. In terms of global big cities its hard to find one that compares re location, beaches, weather, waves, career opportunities etc Some big problems for sure but try living in London - no after work or pre work surf. There are few places that can give you all the upside of Sydney. Having said that I am glad to be out
