Man, that skydiving vid is sick, can we get more of these posted

.
As far as hanggliding and paragliding goes, it's like comparing sailboards and kiting, they both achive the same aim but in different ways.
A few months ago in Soaring Australia mag in reported accidents there were 22 for PGs and 8 for HGs (no-one killed). HGs have a built in roll cage and crumple Zone so when they hit the glider absorbs most of the impact. I came in pretty quick in the above stack with the wind and only recieved minor scratches to my arms and the glider was fine. If the same thing happened with a PG the speed would be a little slower but you have little protection around you and would of been a lot more serious. If a HG pilot injures himself it's mainly wrist or upper arm damage where PG pilots hit with their hips so it's pelvic or spinal.
We would have ours on bad landings and PGs from bad takeoffs or getting draged.
This is my only dodgy takeoff so far last Easter at Albany on my new high proformance glider for the first time. I didn't know what to expect and got way out of control but made it, these HP gliders are fast and unstable. If you watch the keel (the pole sticking out the back) swing from side to side you can see how much it was yawing. It's only 20 seconds long but got a whole lot worse after this;
