Getting back to the office after 2 weeks of fieldwork, and having hundreds of new posts to read, my eyes are sore.
But when out in the scrub I got bitten by something nasty, and had a bad allergic reaction to it, and no anti-histamines in the first aid kit. To make it worse I was about 5km from camp, nursing a quadbike that had a front balljoint fall out, which also meant the shaft came out of the diff, tearing the seal and leaking diff oil. Managed to get it all back together and bound with rope scavenged off the beach (was down getting crays for dinner). Anyway, riding back to camp at walking pace, dark, and the rope kept breaking so the balljoint kept falling out. At some stage I was lying on the ground fixing it again, when got bitten. Then started getting seriously ill. Hives all over, itching all over, swollen arm and face, spaced out, got back to camp eventually and no anti-histamines there either. Luckily my windpipe didn't swell, or I might not be here.

We have an actual hazard at work here, the bloke next to me keeps eating apples at his desk, and i hate apple-eating sounds. That makes me a hazard I spose.

Yeah Stribo, plenty. The coast there is untouched by recreational fishers, and the pros put their pots further out, so it's cray and ab diving heaven.

Paper cuts!!!

And the occasional death threat from really emotional customers when you tell them that they are not fully insured and should have read their policies carefully....

Sometimes it's really unfair
