Today a new 'rich text' editor was installed, which I hope you're having a look at.

If you're having any dramas, or posts are not displaying properly, share here...

I think it's a little short of Rich... it has exactly the same formatting options as before.

No insert pic.
No bullets.
No font colour.
No bg colour.
No alignment.
No font face/size.

Should be able to insert pics .. look for the "Add An image to my message" / "Show my uploaded messages"

WYSIWYG quotes are very cool .. but what happens if I want to Add/copy a quote? Typing

Also - I agree with Fly, more options could bring a bit more colour to discussions. But you would of course have clowns typing everything in 72pt red comic sans.

I guess you mean "Sarcastica" ... we only support "Good Times Roman"... (Arj Barker)

can we go back to hidden grey font too oops have to rememer to turn italics OFF now

BUT it won't work with quoting. Since I turned it on I try to quote ppl in my reply and it does not insert their bit?

Quoting works for me.

Have you got any script blockers running? (NoScript etc.)

No idea. I did find after the last change if I cliked in italics it put the at the END of my post not on the word, and smilies likewise. Try to put an emoticon here... and it would go after the text. Now that works it put the wink in easy but I can't quote. Hmmm
Is a script blocker a security settign in Windows or part of Avast / AVG or user installed? If it is the latter this is P.Relli's old PC so I could have annyyythiing on it

PS: A bug! The new editor does not strip off the trailing image tag if the user manually wraps an image url in img tags (if that makes sense) - see above
PPS: Maybe that's the new editor being sarcastic?

It would be user installed.

On firefox (sorry no idea about other browsers) do:

Tools
Add ons...
Extensions

And see if you have something called Ad Block Plus in the list

Then again if you had that and it was turned on for Seabreeze you would be having issues with other stuff on this site and not just quoting replies.

Mark, can you share your OS/Browser/version? .. e.g. Mac, Safari 14 .. or PC, IE, 7.0 .. .etc...

I can, but suppose I wanted to embed an image without typing [ img ]...

Oh and one realy big issue... Spel chekers dont wok no mor... and I cants spel.

If you want to paste a link to an image, just paste the Url (the text that starts with http), and the new system will automatically display it as an image once you save your post.

In Firefox:

Editing a post successfully throws you back to the beginning of the thread and not to the top of the page you were on (eg., page 3). It's a bit annoying.

Upon entering the editor the top of the text pane aligns itself with the bottom edge of the address bar thus hiding the Undo/Redo buttons et al. Need to scroll down to see them.

For some reason the topis button is not working properley on my iPhone ios 6 and also laptop, wiundows 8, google chrome Version 26.0.1410.64 m

That's the topic button that takes you out of the thread and back into the list of topics...

I am using a Vic-20 and the colours are all wrong...

I miss the days of just pure HTML... ahhh, they were the days. This fancy-smansy proportional fonts and stuff will never take off! Never!

P.S. Why do we need upper case and lower case?

Seriously though, I did prefer the older way of editting, but I can accept that some people would have found it too technical.

Hi Laurie,

I'm using Motorola Droid RAZR, Android V4.1.2, Android browser. Here's what I see after the change.

When I use Settings->Advanced->Auto-fit pages NOT checked it's ok on text but I don't get full video screen for embedded videos

When I use Settings->Advanced->Auto-fit pages CHECKED it's completely munted, the text only appears in three letter lines on the left (down from similar effect but about 15 characters before yesterday)

FYI - Most other sites work best when I have the option CHECKED.
