'Prince Planet' was my favourute when I was a Kid also the 60's
Not many people from that generation remember it!

We all use to go to primary school with jam jar lids hanging from our necks with a star and 'P' drawn on the inside.

F@#K i'm old.....

Prince Planet looks like a Astroboy ripoff.

My favs when I was a boy were Starblazers and G Force Battle of the Planets. But I thought Battle of the Planets was a bit cheap as they would always do their special move at the end and would beat the crap out their enemy.

I was always going for the good guys in Starblazers as they were the fighting the man but always went for the baddies in G Force.

Yup G Force or Battle of the Planets - couldn't remember the proper name myself - rocked my little corner of the playground!

5 young people with sssyyooper powers!! Classic.

Amazingly the bad guys never quite caught on to the fact that the 5 young people with sssyyooper powers were going to 'go the Phoenix' when the going got tough...

No prizes for guessing where Gath got the design for their original visor helmets!!

Pretty much was - like alot of others at the time, Marine Boy was another, but for some reason this one really took off, locally at least.

Gigantor was great too and the a few years later the Herculoids was a fovourite. Basically anything that had a sci-fi twist - was the decade of the space race after all.

Yeah Starblazers was good - but I was getting on then - a generation later but I remember liking it and watching a fair few episodes.

Anybody know the cartoon (circa early-mid 60s) where the characters were drawn but the talking mouths were filmed actors? I think it was some kind of secret agen/cold war kinda vibe, Kimba the xenophobic lion may have also done a bit of that too.

On The Incredibles DVD extras there is a hell funny homage to it that cracked me up. The dialogue was mint; "Well far out daddy-o that cat is not going to be down from the tree for a long time." in an attempted jive but really carrot-up-the-date voice. Kids films are funnier for oldies than squids these days I reckon

Gotta mention Batfink , Milton the Monster and Hong Kong Foo-ee (number 1 super guy).

Then of course there is always Roger Ramjet. This show was soooo subversive and seemed so red whit n blue at 1st. You just don't get satire that good in kids time slots these days I reckon.

Now where did I leave my proton pills?

Roger Ramjet, he's our hero
Fighting for our freedom
Fly to win in outspace
not to join 'em
but to beat 'em,

Roger Ramjet, he's our man
Hero of our nation
for his adventures just be sure
To stay tuned to this station.

This proton energy pill gives me the strength of twenty atom bombs for a periods of twenty seconds!

That was "Shame of the jungle"

this The GOTJ theme

George, George
George of the Jungle,
Strong as he can be.
(Ahhhhhhhh)
Watch out for that tree.

George, George,
George of the Jungle,
Lives a life that's free.
(Ahhhhhhhh)
Watch out for that tree.

When he gets in a scrape,
he makes his escape
with the help of his friend,
an ape named Ape.
Then away he'll schlep
on his elephant Shep
While Fella and Ursula
Stay in step.

Well....George, George
George of the Jungle,
Friend to you and me.

Watch out for that tree.

Is it just me or looking back are heaps of these superhero shows more than just a little camp?

Crikey - no wonder i didn't realise Freddy Mercury was battin for the other team... he looked heaps straighter than He-Man for sure!

he he.. Ren n Stimpy watching at 7am (I think) every Saturday in my early 20s after an all-nighter. Strange dreams nodding off half-way through that i can tell ya!!!

Did anyone else really really want to see the Coyote completely cane that smart @rse rabbit at least once? I swear if I ever see that smug-long-eared-mutha in the street I'm gonna open up some wup-@arse for sure!!

Probably best cancel my trip to Warner world then I guess...
