Fatal stingray attack

I suppose my point was that some rays can be assholes.
I think this particular ray that killed the man was an asshole, the same thing may of happened with 50 different rays but on this day and with this particular ray the outcome was catastrophic whereas the other imaginary 50 rays would of likely swim off.
I suppose in bullet point form,
1) the ray that stung him was an asshole
2) The damage and location sustained to the victim is a more attacking than defensive wound due to location and placement.
3) The news article links merely highlight that stingray stings ie California can be numerous and in excess of 50 stings in a day on some beaches ( clearly different species) however none deadly.
4) I do not support a stingray cull
5) some stingrays are assholes
