Its a lot easier to find Troopy parts in the NW than it is to find Delica parts. Also most mechanics in the NW could fix a Troopy with their eyes closed wheras the Delica being an import you may have problems finding someone to look at it.

Must be a different northwest to the one I've been to where there are lots of Pajeros and mechanics are familiar with them?

Granted, there are more Troopies but just cos the Delica is imported does not rule it out when all the bits are same as Pajero, Triton and Challenger

Nice set up.

I love the stack of boards. You could smuggle a small elephant among the stack and no one would no.

However, I think the limited head room would get a little cramped as I intend to be gone for around 6 or 7 months.

None the less, it's a great idea. I'm going to email this thread to a mate who just bought a Patrol like yours as he is planning a similar but shorter trip.

Yeah there is not a lot of headroom but its way better than it looks, as I said there is usually just the swag I had just put the other mattress in to see how it would go. Also the rolled up curtain hanging down makes it look worse, there is plenty of room to roll over etc but it would be a bit hard to get up to any shenanigans.......I would imagine.
I usually only sleep in the car for a night or two whilst on the road, If I stay anywhere for more than that I set up the Oztent that is on the LHS of the roof rack.
The Delica is set up with about 200mm more height underneath the bed and still has more headroom.

Cassa,

What brand of tent is that? I had a look at the Oztent website but could not see that type. They were all stand-alone ones.
