Was having a think about this in the car this morning. I thought why do you never hear of Left Wing nutters going on a killing spree? Then it occured to me that several of the worst dictators in history have been left wing extremists (Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot)

So why do Right Wing nutters just go on a killing spree on their own, whereas Left Wing nutters start a revolution, overturn the state and then systematically kill everyone?

Ha. I just had this exact conversation with a colleague over lunch, to which he replied "They were all lefties!?".

Kiwis eh?

Although he did kind of qualify his thinking with the line "I always imagined dictators as very right wing; that they are ultra conservative". Kind of makes sense, perhaps both wings are part of a giant (French) circle.

I imagine Stalins 'Left' was a different beast to the current 'far left' that is happenin in Europe.. The EU welfare system alone would be turning Broseph in his grave. And can anybody imagine Stalin turning to Muslim immigrants to do the jobs no soviets want? Unlikely.


Anyway, those left wing dictators can't really be held up as a defense against a Psycho killer with Right wing, nationalistic ideologies. Breivik's political stance is not uncommon in Europe, or Australia.. We just have to remember it's not only the Jihadist who are capable of terrorism and mass murder. Something that seems to be forgotten in the last ten years.

Is this whole situation just a preview of the unforeseen (or deliberately ignored) consequences of multiculturalism? Mass immigration breeds homegrown terrorists?

Will there be an Australian copycat? Ozzi Breiv-o's rampaging against the CO2 tax, or the fact he can't get good ol' fashioned Ozzi Ham on his good ol' fashioned Ozzi Pizza..
