Some good comments here, however I'm just not into a drink which requires an umbrella hanging out of it.

Haha, three Rekorderlig ciders and 2lt of mixed vodka later and I think I drank enough. Still no hangover where beer would have shattered me

The Rekorderlig is pretty easy to drink, its just like soft drink. However I like a cider with a bit of an edge to it. It would be cool to own some apple trees and make cider out of the fruit.

Apparently prohibitionists went around America chopping down apple trees that Johny Appleseed planted. The apples were used to make cider.

Its a pity cheap cider in 750ml bottles is no longer available.

Proper cider smells like d i c k cheese and should be dry as a nuns nasty. I'm trying to source some from Spain and some crafty stuff from the states at present.
This lolly water crap that is produced in Oz and from concentrate in Sweeden etc is fit only for girls and pillow biters.
Try biting into a real cider apple and you'll understand why crap Aussie cider tastes the way it does, thankfully there is a select few orchardists grafting over dessert trees to traditional varieties of late.
The cider revolution has only just begun.....

^^^The man knows his cider - although I dare to ask how he knows what d!ck cheese smells like?

What you've never been camping for a week, scratched your knob then picked your nose?

Just got hold of some samples from http://www.2mt.com.au/brew_real_cider.html apparently these guys are about as authentic as it gets in Oz,will keep you posted.

Smicko the to two meters tall ciders are a good drop, I like the pear cider. Was very sour like a good lambic beer. Will vary from batch to batch as stated on the label (check it out!).

They also do a dark ale made with apples (good drop also).

Have you tried any of the Henry of Harcourt ciders? Well worth a look, also made in the traditional way with proper cider apples.

Thanks Jefin, I'll give Henry's a bell on Monday and see if I can get some samples over. Just about to try a 2mt so we'll see. Your descriptor sounds good tho.....

No Worries

If I get my backside into gear and make a batch this year I will shoot you through a bottle or two! (If it's any good)

Limestone coast cider house in Mt Gambier do a good cider and a brewing course if you are interested in that sort of stuff, they are on facebook only no website.

Also have a look at the sites below (never had them but might be worth a look)

Found some Mercury apple cider in 750ml bottles tonight at the local big chain bottleshop. $3.90 a bottle and good to drink with ice on a warm evening.
