Plenty of lefties get all up in arms about stuff like that, and save the whales, and don't eat anythign with a face blah blah - I have NEVER YET seen the same group join the protests about blokes who murdered people and how they get low penalties.

What a load of crap, you just need to look at the protests that followed the murder of Jill Meagher here in Victoria, and I am sure they where aired nationally, and you could see people who had had enough of violence and were obviously from all walks of life.
And for the record, any form animal cruelty is not to be tolerated and yes it is our responsibility to teach our children this.

That was huge - and rightly so
but that is the only example I can think of - the leftie Land Rights For Gay Whales types were there because to them it was a feminist / sexual assault issue. Her being kinda famous and pretty helped a bit too.
I repeat - I am yet to see them protest about stuff like a murderer of a male victim getting a soft sentence.
Show me the crew who protest about EVERYTHING (you know the types) picketing a court about a drink driver who killed a kid getting off easy?
Like I said they will go off about anything fluffy, or a tree, and not care about man's inhumanity to man unless it is trendy / feminist / racist

I reckon there is more than a good chance of up to ten peeps protesting when Puneet Puneet get's extradited from India and charged with murder here in Melbs after four years on the run.
With a bit of luck one of these forlon leftys may decide to make up a mock hang mans noose and hit the divy van carrying him while being filmed on eye witness news entering the court room. Which would cause a huge international conflict, resulting in 10s of thousands of Puneet Puneets packing their bags to go back home to India.
Reality is, that's very unlikely. That sort of footage would cause too much of a diplomatic problem and won't ever go to air. Even if it happened, away from the media eyes and without international conflict, the forlorn lefty would get a tougher sentence than the scum bag Puneet Puneet.
