Hi guys.

After much discussion with the wife we have decided to get a yacht to enjoy weekend day sailing and school holidays cruising up the WA coast. When we get really confident would try a trip back to Fiji.

I know my way around yachts but still always learning. My question is, what yacht would be suitable for a young family of 6. Kids are 13,11,8, & 1. It would be mainly blue water/coastal cruising not racing and be set up short handed as much as possible.

My heart says an S&S 34/39 but maybe something at the other end like a Hans Christian or many models of Ketch set ups. Not sure about Cats, never sailed on them.
I love my windsurfing but this is the next step for the family unit.

Most important is budget under $80k ready to sail.

I've rushed most of my decisions so far and don't want to rush into this one. Got plenty of time to find right one.

So Cisco, Ramona, any ideas.
