Ok, true, it snows here at all weird times of the year, but .......... please try this paragliding gig when you get the chance.
Kite skills cross very well, so a decent kiter will pick it up quickly. (You MUST do a full licensing course). Sure I miss the beach, but don't talk to me about Big Air, you have no idea just how big it gets.
And think of the biggest, nastiest kite lop you ever pulled... I promise, nowhere near to the forces in a spiral dive pulling 3G.
And then there's SIV, where you try to induce all the f'ups that can ruin your day (in a controlled situation) .... and then fix them. Try falling 600m in a tight spiral with your kite tangled up like a bow tie(cravat). No problem ... pull the safety shute and splash down in the world's biggest Evian (lake Geneva)
To much crapping on, but give a try, you'll love it.
