SHQ Cruise to the Cerberus 2011:

The SHQ Cruise to the Cerberus is the longest running SUP Race in Australia, now in it's 4th year and with one hundred expected competitors. The Cerberus Race is foremost a social SUP event, with all levels of Sup'ers warmly welcome, from first timers to competitive race professional, in the end it's all about having fun on the water !

When: Sunday 13 February
Where: Sandringham Beach, end of Jetty Rd

Start: 10 am (sharp)
Course: Sandringham Beach to the Cerberus and back (6km)
 Entry Fee: $15 (incl free BBQ)

Event schedule:

08.00am – Registration at SHQ Kiosk (end of Jetty Road)
09:30am – Registration closes
09:45am – Race briefing at Beach
10:00am – Start Open Unlimited, 12'6 & under and Youth Class
11.15 am – Start Recreational Cruise
12.00 am – Start Kids Fun Race
12.30 pm – Price Giving and BBq at SHQ Kiosk
01.00pm – Start Demo's and Clinics (SHQ Kiosk side)

Safety:
All competitors will need to use a leg-rope and are advised to use an appropriate PFD.


Classes:

Men and Women's over 12'6 Unlimited Class:
Bring your 17ft” race board, 14'ft downwind board or use one of our many demo boards. However don't be fooled this class showcases the elite competitors in the sports and racing will get very serious. The winner will get to hang onto the highly contested perpetual SHQ Cruise to the Cerberus Trophy for the coming year. There will also be a separate women's Trophy.

Men and Women's 12'6 and under Class
This class is open to participators with a board size of 12'6 and under. If you don't own a board, feel free to use one of our many demo boards on the day. Trophy's for both the first Male and Female


12 -17 Youth Class:
This is an open class (any board size) for Youth between 12- 16 years of age. Full race distance. Trophy for the winner.


Recreational Cruise:
This is a fun “Race” for beginners and first timers. Use a borrowed board, old windsurfer or grab one of our many demo boards. It's all about participation and fun. The course will only be 1/3 off the full Cerberus Race distance.

Under 12 Kids Fun Race
Let's have some fun ! A very short course of 400 meters. Kids can use the SHQ adjustable school paddles and their parent's boards or one of our soft deck demo boards. PFD's required & available from SHQ.






Demo Equipment:
Demo quivers of Naish, PSH, Coreban, Quickblade and Kialoa ! + SHQ's own demo and school fleet

Clinics starting 1.00 pm: (SHQ Kiosk Beach)


Racing /paddling Technique:
Racing Technique Clinic by one of Australia's top paddlers and Coreban teamrider Woogie Marsh assisted by fastest paddler in Victoria and SHQ/Naish Teamrider Cameron Hoskins.




Getting in the Waves: (to be confirmed)
Wave Riding Clinic . Get the best tips from a expert wave rider and practice your newly learned skills under his supervision.

Free BBQ + Drinks

Hang out for the free BBQ and prize ceremony afterwards. And make sure you catch up with breezers and other like-minded SUP enthusiasts.

Prizes:
Once again it's all about the honor and the highly contested perpetual SHQ Cerberus Trophy. 
Although all winners will also get a prize from our Lucky draw price pool.
