Hi to all members and those wishing to join
The Next Club Day will be on the 10th of April 2011Venue: Maroochydore River Mouth
Time: 8:30am
Format:After chatting with a number of members we have decided that the next few club days will be focused on learning new manoeuvres with the guidance of someone who knows how to do them. The first one is the Helco 360'. The idea is to post a video on how to do it and then get someone at the club to assist in pointers and instructing how to do it. Then the members will spend the day trying to do that manoeuvre in the surf. This is something we don't try by ourselves and could be a good way of building everyone's list of tricks. When we get around to the next comp we should all have a new range of skills.
Sup 360'
NewsHayden and I attended the last regional board riders meeting in which the new comp format for the Coast of Origin series was discussed.
This comp will be held in early August and will consist of all surf craft (Short Board, Long Board and SUP).
Our club can enter in the following divisions:
2 Entries OPEN Womens
4 Entries OPEN Mens
2 Entries Over 45's Mens
Plus all the LongBoard events.
We will be competing against members from Noosa Long Boards, Caloundra Mal Club, and a combined team from many other clubs.
This is a pilot comp initiated from Surfing Qld and the team choosen from this comp will compete against the Gold Coast Region.
This allows our members a chance of making a Sunshine Coast Rep Team. In the lead up to this comp we will have to have a comp to select our team.
Come to the next few club days to improve skills and learn from each other.
