secondhand Maldives surf report
I have a friend who is on his first full day in the Maldives, he just texted me this terrific report and I thought I'd share it with you.

Hi
Just had sultan right at 4 ft with some bigger, very similar to Wilkes in Fiji
Started off howling offshore wind storm then after half an hour wind settled, it was quite unerving for a while. Started off sitting on the shoulder and watched break character, then took an easy one to get used to it, after that moved to take off area and got 8 good waves. Some had nice workable shoulder while others fast bowl section , just drive and hang on for 100 meter. Long paddle back
Pasta is blown out rippy and sectioning at 6+
See ya

Fireball
I'm going back to the Fireball,this time the Evo II version.9.6 x 23 x 3.
The reason,08 rocker and going up the extra 3 inches and dropping
some thickness it will still have the volume I require. I'm really looking forward to this
one because the fireball was always the pick for me from 9.1 ,9.4 , 9.6 and 10 foot.
With a new plan shape and rocker I'm frothing for one.

Chillhouse Bali Surf Retreat
Anybody out there had any experience with Chillhouse in Bali?

I'm a beginner surfer so was looking at a package that gave me access to lessons, and my wife yoga/massage. Would have 18 month and 4 year old nippers with us.

Maldives Board Selection
October is meant to be just fun smallish waves. Although I'm sure there will be some swell magnet spots thrown in. There always is...

I was originally thinking about a mid-length and a semi-gun. But quickly thought that a Longboard and a Step-Up would be better.

Bob has confirmed he is taking a 9'0 EvoII Epoxy Custom (semi-experimental), and a 9'1 Original Tufflite. Actually I need to confirm with him that I can get some rides on his gear. I'm sure I can.

Vice versa, he will have options on my 9'1 EvoII and his old Yellow Dream Machine Rincon '68, 7'10 Step-Up.

I did a trial fitting on the 9'1 and 7'10 into my 9'6 Travel Bag. Like a glove baby! Really good fit. Very happy. Don't have to invest in more equipment.

Getting excited! 125 foot cruiser.
Bob told me I'm the 'young punk' on the tour!
