Taking place at Yeppoon now with 7 techno sailers and one RSX sailors.

Day 1. 12-15knts Practice on starts and sailing the course plenty of info on fine tuning sails board trim and transitions. They made to sail backwards between two marks.

Day 2. 15-20 knts the swell and wind made it quite challenging some carnage in the shore break getting in and out. A downwind slalom course was set and the day was spent practicing getting maximum speed on reaches and carve gybes.

Day 3. 12-15knts. More slalom practice and focus on starts.

Day 4. Today is the start of a 3 day reggatta and a chance to put the new skills and techniques into practice.

The kids have already come a long way already. the swells that seemed daunting on day 1 were a breeze on day 3 after what they experienced on day 2. The windsurfers seem to be the first class on the water and the last to come off. They have learned heaps already and my son has taught me some new techniques. Awesome stuff in my opinion the next generation of windsurfers. Youngest sailor is 11 years old and one of the sailors has pulled out of the reggatta to head to woollgoolga for the wavesailing nats to compete in the under 13 division.
