Picked up a Fanatic Allwave 8' 10" today and took it for a run on flat water.
This is a second board which my parter will use in flat water and I plan to give it a run in small waves with a paddle and a sail.
For the record I'm 90kg and a relatively inexperienced SUPer.
I found the board to be suprisingly good in flat water. It tracked reasonably well with the stock fin and even better with a bigger centre fin. The board was nice and stable, no more challenging than the Fanatic Fly 10' I have. In fact it may even be more stable side to side than the Fly.
The other big surprise was that the glide was quite nice when you find the right balance point. The volume in the back is lower which made it agile in the turns (and with my weight the tail was just level with the water line).
The other good feature was the price at an RRP of $1499 I though it to be good value. I was originally considering the SB WP 8' 10" which was $300 more.
Also picked up a new Naish adjustable padle to replace the previous alloy adjustable. My partner loved it, purely for the weight difference.
