we tried one of these fins in my 14 'after mounting a ss rod in the fin

the fin felt more stable, no apparent lose of speed, paddled a lot straighter and turned really well when using the rudder. it wasn't until we put the other rudder back in did we realize how much more stability it offered. i'm impressed. has anyone else tried them/

We are looking for a board for flat water work with 1 or 2 kids on as passengers. It will be used on the lake 99.9% of the time with maybe 1 or 2 ocean paddles a year. When on a family paddle my wife would use it with the kids on and I will ride a 12' board. Is a 14' board going to be big enough or should I be focusing on the longer boards.

What are my choices... DC's, Laguna bay, Lahui Kai? How do they all compare? I would prefer to buy second hand.
