What's the best bargain you ever got??
What was the single best bargain you've ever scored when buying windsurfing gear? Let's hear it!

Allow me to go first; I'm still pretty chuffed about this one coz it was only a week ago...

Last Saturday, The Windsurfing Shop (Singapore) had it's annual sale, and as usual I was first in the queue, pockets full of cash. And there it was, sparkling in the morning sunlight like a vision from heaven - my baby!

A Powerex 400cm skinny mast in excellent, almost new condition - 90 Singapore dollars!!

According to the current exchange rate, in Aussie money that's $69.21!

I grabbed it (along with 3 other masts and a heap of boardshorts and mast pads and sunglasses and luggage...some of the other guys were hatin' on me, but what can I say? Didn't your mama tell you - the early bird gets the worm!!!

Can anybody top that? (Free stuff doesn't count!)

Knees
Anybody out there got knee trouble? Have you found windsurfing helps or aggravates the problem? What kind of windsurfing has had what effects - bump n jump as opposed to formula etc...

Me, had some trouble in high school, now I can't run 10 steps or it hurts for days, but I can hike up and down mountains no probs. I've just had three 5m days in a row and two good 7m days before that, and that adds up to a lot of chop hops! Been sailing at least 3 hours each day. Every part of me is feeling the pain now, so it would be only natural for the ol' knees to complain a bit, but I can't help feeling that windsurfing has been good for them overall...

Yeah this kinda hurt for a couple weeks. I was doing some gymnastics in PE and we were using the spring boards to do some forward flip over some mats. One of my mates and i kept making the pile of mats taller and taller to try and make it more fun. Once we had used all the mats up, the pile was probably about 1, 1.5 metres tall. We did forward flips over this and got bored prity quickly. Our teacher was helping people do other tricks of the mat and spring board next to us so we decided to start doing some back flips off the mat once we were on it. We had both done a couple until finally i was the one to mess one up and didn't turn over quickly enough. I landed straight on one knee and hit the edge of the mat, but went straight through and hit the floor boards of the gym floor. I was in quite a lot of pain and went to sit down for a while. After a couple of minutes i got very board sitting on the bench and deciced to join back in. For the rest of the day i walked, ran and jumpped on the knee untill i went home. Once i got home i started to realise that i was it a great deal of pain and should probably ice my knee (about 5 or 6 hours after the injury happend). I kept icing it for days and all it did was get bigger. Then finally, four days after it happend i decided to go see the physio. So after all this i spent 3 weeks on crutches and had the worst and most grumpy 3 weeks of my life. I defently was not the best person to be around at this point. I learnt crutches are a lot of fun when you don't need them, but when you do they are the worst thing ever. bubs
