www.abc.net.au/news/2018-11-06/cycling-advocate-who-warned-of-dangers-dies-on-ride/10468864I can see both sides. Theres laws stating minimum passing distances. But by the same token road cyclists seem to be very beligerent and not helping themselves by using dedicated bikeways, riding out in the road, holding up traffic etc Almost to the point of collective madness. The same logic that makes them think its ok to wear lycra and shave their legs i guess.
I think one of the issues is when they have these high performance road bikes they dont want to use bike lanes, paths or even the non vehicle side of the white line which is often wide, because of their super skinny wheels dont like little rocks etc. In the interests of their own safety id incourage tyem to have a set of thicker training wheels and make use of these alternative areas wherever possible. Theyre there for exercise after all. Heaven forbid you need to stop and start a bit more on the bike paths and push bigger wheels. Might get more exercise.
