Hoping the following photos explain how I installed & mounted my track block & foil. But hey. Nothing ever goes to plan as there is always a problem the first time. But I got through it.
Cut the hole using a hacksaw blade in a holder handle. Easy as.
Don't forget to add 1mm for every layer of epoxy over the high density foam sheet packers as this will raise the height of the track box that may end up above the hull! I had to grind 2mm off mine! I used close to 1 litre Bote Cote resin & 500 ml hardener, 2 to 1 ratio. And I think a full small tub of maybe about 400 grams of q cell, microspheres or filler powder in the epoxy mix for installing the high density foam & track block.
I used 6ounce fibreglass matting. About 6 sheets to reinforce the deck & about 3 to 4 sheets over the track box & hull.
Needed about a 15mm wedge to set the foil mast at right angles to deck so found one on ebay from Jono & Johno. Its a chainsaw wedge at 30mm thickness at fat end that cost only about $21 for two! That I split in half with a saw. Maybe a band saw would be easier but I took my time & persevered.
The foil tether was made from a piece of 90mm water pipe that I heated briefly to soften & mold around the mast. Then drilled a hole in it, tied on a cord & clip that is covered by a black poly irrigation pipe to protect the board from the clip.
Surfed it today & was very happy with the set up so far.
