F-one Swing's construction concern
Hi all,

I went with a friend for a downwind session, quite far from shore when my beloved Swing 4.2 bursted in my hands.

I circled the area where the seam started to crack.
It took me 30min to get back to coast on my knees, with just enough traction from the wing to counter tide current.
Thanks to clamp - not included- the leading edge was still rigid enough.

The shop I bought this wing from had seen this happen before.
He said that this occurs between front and back handles, at the point where the boom flexes the most when pumping.
Little by little the stitches get worn out in this area, which is to be frequently checked.

Then he reached for F-one french after sales service and told me this damage is not covered by warranty.
Apparently, they've seen too many kites with scratches caused by friction on sand.
I'd say this particular seam is the least likely to get anywhere close to abrasive surfaces, anyway...

The guy who fixed the wing (for a cheap 37euros) said the sewing thread was a bit thin to his eyes.
Sorry for the "revenge post" aspect of this story but I'm clearly disappointed, and it's not a question of money.
It's a question of understanding what we need : equipment we can rely on.

Gong Superpower 6m Bladder
Hi All,

I ran over the leading edge of my gong 6m superpower . The wind wing was repaired in a day however I've tried to get a quote from gong and it's been a while. I'm new to kites and wind wings. Can I get an alternative bladder, or a repair? I was a little surprised how flimsy bladders are.

The 6m Superpower has been great fun. Pumping the wing you really get some speed up.

Thanks

Wing Foil v Kite Foil
Just interested to hear everyone's opinion now on the Wing Foil v Kite Foiling . Love it or hate it , lets hear it . It's been a big year since it's inception with new manufacturers popping up everywhere , Nasih just released a whole range and now Duotone is releasing two new ranges , Ultra light boom less & light weight boom models in 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 & 7m . So that says to me the market is big but I'm not seeing that many wings on the water (on the Gold Coast ) Kite foiling will always have the light wind advantage but with the new bigger wings that gap is getting smaller. So keen to hear from who's tried it or those that just don't like the idea. I myself have sold all my kite gear as I just haven't used since taking prone/sup & wing foiling , I also don't surf my short board or paddle a normal sup either , anyone else hung their old gear since getting bit by the foil bug..

Looking to start wing foiling
I have only recently heard about this sport and am interested in getting involved.

I have done a bit of kiteboarding but was pretty average at it as could not get out enough due to other commitments. Hoping with Wing Foiling I can get out more often. I really like the comparative simplicity of launching compared to kiteboarding.

I am 46, 76 kgs and live in Sydney. Looking to stay on flat water at Botany Bay.

I want lots of convenience which is probably not the best set up but need it to suit my needs. Therefore, I need an inflatable SUP with a foil attachment so it can fit in the boot of the car along with the wing.

This is a package deal from Mantafoils with board, wing and foil for $2,390USD. Hoping to learn without the foil for awhile and as I progress I can add the foil.

www.mantafoils.com/e-shop/Manta-wing-mono-foil-board-special-deal-p142771014

Does anyone know anything about these products and if they are any good? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you think this would be an appropriate size board to learn on?

What shop in Sydney does anyone recommend for the best advice? Kitepower, WSS Boards?

Thanks

Brad.
