Nothing like introducing a friend into the sport!

He's been a short boarder since he was a featus. Having recently got a new board, I now have two, so lent my "spare" to him, so he could have a go.

In a nutshell, he's now hooked, and he's dragging me out in the most crappy conditions ever! But... I'm loving it. I'd allowed myself to be duped into waiting for those glassy conditions with perfect tide and swell. I'd become one of those guys you see come down to the beach for a look, then leave. Urrgh

It's great to return to the "less than best" conditions, plenty of challenges, excitement and fun to be had. Nothing like the keenness of a fresh grommie!

So.. If you're thinking of walking away from the beach when conditions don't look so good, maybe think again and get out there anyway!
